OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE PRINCIPLE ANTAGONIST

Scripture: 1 John 2:27 Theme: Warning Concerning Antichrists The Word of God is always to address the CHILD/Ren of God. For this reason, we as children of God are to read and comprehend the Word for ourselves. (Therefore, we must read the Word not in view that it is for the Unbeliever.) 18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. This address is a WARNING to us as children (those who LOVE God and are saved and filled with the Holy Spirit) that we are near the end of our time here on earth. Since we are children of God surely we have heard that the antichrist is coming (which means he has not yet come). First, it is important to understand by definition WHO the antichrist is: Definition of ANTICHRIST 1 : one who denies or opposes Christ; specifically : a great antagonist expected to fill the world with wickedness but to be conquered forever by Christ at his second coming 2 : a false Christ Antichrist [N] [T] [E] [H] [S] The term "antichrist" occurs only in 1 and 2 John, and there in both singular and plural forms. It is part of a complex of images and figures that represent the activity and power of evil of those forces that are hostile to God. noun, Theology 1. a particular personage or power, variously identified or explained, who is conceived of as appearing in the world as the principal antagonist of Christ. 2. (sometimes lowercase) an opponent of Christ; a person or power antagonistic to Christ. 3. (often lowercase) a disbeliever in Christ. 4. (often lowercase) a false Christ. The SINGULAR form here of the term (antichrist) confirms the above theological definition of him being the PRINCIPAL ANTAGONIST OF CHRIST and the tense of the phrase “is coming” reveals that he is yet to come and has not yet revealed himself and will not until the “last hour”. (Where we are now and he will soon reveal himself). Part b of the verse confirms that there are many antichrists and that they have come. Before we proceed it is important to understand that the, now PLURAL tense of the term antichrist(s) suggests SPIRITS and workers of evil that some or a quantity of many are already here! (Hence, there are more to come in the last hour to accompany the antichrist). Scripture reference see also 1 John 4: 1-3 and Psalm 28:3-5 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. Since “they” is the pronoun usage here it is important to follow the reference? This means that the antichrists are people who were once in fellowship with us and then it also must identify that they were already among us as deceivers and teachers! Confirmed in the part b phrase of this verse. WE MUST BE SO WATCHFUL of behavior because we have been WARNED as the genuine believer! 20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you have all knowledge. This means that the one that has been ceremonial clean/dedicated to God via the Holy Spirit (Our Guardian from deception) we have a guide into knowing ALL THINGS that contradict the Spirit of Christ so this means there will BE NO EXCUSE for falling away nor being deceived by the evil one when he comes. 21 I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. For this reason the warning of the antichrist has been made because if there is ever a question in our minds as Holy Spirit filled believers we must rely on the TRUTH, which is the WORD OF GOD/GOD IS …and there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE of a LIE in the Word of God. (our reference book/instructions when we hear a Word in church or when the antichrist steps to the podium and uses mind control to deceive even the elect). NOT LOVING THE WORLD OR THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD IS THE SCRIPTURE PRELUDE to these verses so we must understand that there is a connection here and that in being deceived we must NOT LOVE the things of this world. Take a moment and make a list of the things/people that you say you love. Then ask yourself does this “thing(s)”/person/people represent Jesus Christ? Do I LOVE them? If I say that I do is the Spirit of the Holy One present in them? Do THEY LOVE GOD? This evaluation will help us to remove some things/people in our life that will surely lead to our own deception and falling away from the TRUTH in the most critical moments of our walk. It is being played out just like your FAVORITE movie scene!! PREDICTABLE YET SO UNPREDICTABLE. THINK ABOUT IT
